About Christine Wilford

A lifelong interest in design and a growing passion for plants and gardens led me to study garden design professionally at the Garden Design School in Surrey.

I qualified in 2007 with Distinction and have established the garden design practice GreenArden design in 2008.

Since embarking on the journey of creating gardens I have become more and more passionate about planting design and creating environments for people to enjoy, relax and de-stress from our daily life challenges.

I am a fully registered member of the Society of Garden Designers ( SGD), the professional body of garden designers in the UK.

My professional background before starting garden design is as an Architect qualifying  in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany. Subsequently I have worked for several architectural practises in Hamburg until I established my own architectural practice in 1992. As a result, a wealth of experience in the design process, project management skills and knowledge of the construction process compliment my passion for garden and landscape design.

Since 2019 I hold the position of Chair of the Surrey Garden Design Group,  a collaborative networking group for professionals and non-professionals within the garden and landscape industry.

“A background in architecture was what first drew us to Christine of Greenardendesign. She listened to what we wanted to achieve with our garden and her skills and knowledge have created a beautiful living space that gives great us pleasure every day. Christine has excellent attention to detail and is very professional. She is also very approachable and easy to get along with. We would have no hesitation in recommending her.”
